The STDEV() function calculates the standard deviation of a set of numbers. It measures the dispersion of values around the mean, and returns a number. It is compatible with fields from a relation: if the input is a relational field, the calculation is applied to all linked values.
STDEV() measures the spread between values, not their mean. A low standard deviation means the values are close to each other; a high standard deviation means the values are spread out.
Syntax
STDEV(value1, value2, …)
Calling function parameters in TimeTonic:
-
$field_name= field (link, linked table column, number, selection, formula, text...). - "free text" = free text to be added between quotation marks.
- Do not use quotation marks for numbers.
Parameters
Non-numeric values are ignored. The output format can be configured in the output field options of the formula editor. See Output format options in the Formula column article.
Examples
