In a formula-type column, the COORDX() function extracts the X value from a coordinate pair.
Syntax
COORDX(coordinates)
Calling function parameters in TimeTonic:
- $field_name = field (link, linked table column, number, selection, formula, text...).
- "free text" = free text to add within quotation marks.
- do not use quotation marks for numbers.

Extract the X value
COORDX(COORDINATES(123, 456))
→ The function extracts the X value, which is 123.
Return type
The function returns a number (the X component).
The output result type format can be configured in the output field options of the formula editor. For more details, see Output format options in the Formula Column article.
Business use case
COORDX() isolates the X component (longitude) of a point to use it separately in a calculation or export.
Best practice
COORDX() is combined with COORDY() to retrieve both components of a coordinate created by COORDINATES() or GEOLOC().
