In a formula-type column, the COORDY() function extracts the Y value from a coordinate pair.
Syntax
COORDY(coordinates)
Calling function parameters in TimeTonic:
- $field_name = field (link, linked table column, number, selection, formula, text...).
- "free text" = free text to add in quotes.
- do not use quotes for numbers.

Extract the Y value
COORDY(COORDINATES(123, 456))
→ The function extracts the Y value, which is 456.
Return type
The function returns a number (the Y component).
The output type format can be configured in the output field options of the formula editor. For more details, see Output format options in the Formula Column article.
Business use case
COORDY() isolates the Y component (latitude) of a point to use it separately in a calculation or export.
Best practice
COORDY() is combined with COORDX() to retrieve both components of a coordinate created by COORDINATES() or GEOLOC().
