Configure a Gmail mailbox with the TimeTonic Email module

Updated on

This guide walks you step by step through syncing your Gmail mailbox with TimeTonic and managing your emails directly from your workspace. For the general procedure, see How to sync a mailbox with TimeTonic.

Prerequisite. For security reasons, Gmail requires two-step authentication (2FA) to be enabled in order to generate an app password. It is this password, not your usual Gmail password, that you will use in TimeTonic.

Enable two-step authentication on Google

Sign in to your Google account, then go to your security settings via Manage your Google Account. Enable Two-step verification if it is not already active.

Generate an app password

1
Open app passwords
In your Gmail security settings, Two-step verification tab, at the very bottom, click App passwords.
2
Name the application
Identify yourself if needed, then give the application a name, for example TimeTonic.
3
Generate and keep the password
Click Generate and carefully keep the displayed password (16 characters, like the one below).
