Using Internal vs External Forms
The Form Save trigger allows you to automatically execute an action when a form is saved — whether it's through the TimeTonic interface (internal form) or via a shared form (external form).
➡️ How it works
This trigger detects when a form is saved in different contexts. It’s ideal for launching automated processing right after data is entered or updated — quickly and seamlessly.
➡️ Configuring the save window of a form
Choose the save events to capture:
1️⃣ “Fiche” view is saved
Triggers when an existing record in the “Card View Mode” view is saved by a user in the TimeTonic workspace.
Use case: run an action after an update (e.g., status update, email).
2️⃣ Creation form is submitted
Triggers when a "Create forms view" (internal ↔ external, depending on the sharing settings of your views) is submitted.
Select one or more views to restrict the trigger to specific form views of the table.
Use case: automate on new record creation (e.g., notify a manager, initialize fields).
3️⃣ External form is submitted
Triggers when an external row form shared via link is submitted.
Select one or more external form fields from the table.
Use case: process external submissions (e.g., request customer comments, ask for data entry, collect information for an ongoing application) without granting access to TimeTonic.
