Insert a field value ＄ in the editor

• Use the character: type $ then the field name.

Use dynamic repetition (list linked records)

Insert and repeat linked values in SmartText

When a $ variable is inserted, SmartText shows the table columns and the linked columns. Dynamic repetition lets you list all values from a “Link to another table” field—either as a list or as indented rows in a table.

1️⃣ Insert a variable in a table cell or directly in the editor: type $ then select the link column.

2️⃣ Enable dynamic repetition: click the variable—an indentation icon with branches appears.

3️⃣ Preview then Save.

ℹ️ Depending on your choice, the output will be a list or indented rows in a table.

Apply a view filter to variables in the editor

1️⃣ Open the SmartText editor

2️⃣ Insert a table.

3️⃣ Insert a dynamic value → type $.

4️⃣ Select the reference column.

5️⃣ Open the view selector → icon 👁️‍🗨️.

6️⃣ Set the filtered view so it applies to all rows in the table.

7️⃣ Click “Preview”

Result: you get a consolidated document where the view filter is applied.

Insert a Clickable Link in a SmartText Template

It is now possible to insert in the SmartText editor the variable of a column containing a URL and make it appear as a clickable link. This option is available for all field types containing a URL (URL, permalink, row URL, automatic document).

Once this option is enabled in the editor, the variable appears as a clickable link: when clicked, the user is directly redirected to the corresponding data in TimeTonic.

This new feature helps improve the rendering of your automatic emails or SmartText templates.

Insert an image in the editor

You have two possible options to insert an image in the editor: either by using an image URL or by selecting an image from a file attachment column in the table.

Option 1: URL link

1️⃣ Paste the image URL.

2️⃣ Click Confirm.

3️⃣ Adjust if necessary (size/alignment).

4️⃣ Preview the result.

Option 2: “Insert” from an Attachment column

1️⃣ Select the Attachment column.

2️⃣ Click Insert then Confirm.

3️⃣ Adjust the size using the blue handles.

4️⃣ Align the image (left / center / right) and preview the result.

Linked image variable & repeatable value in a table

1️⃣ (Prerequisite) In the image column: enable Images only.

2️⃣ In the SmartText editor: type $ → select the image column.

3️⃣ Enable the Dynamic image value option.

4️⃣ Adjust the image display:

• ↔️ Align: left / center / right
• ➕ Size: enlarge / reduce
• ⬛ Fit: adapt to frame
• 🔲 Full screen

5️⃣ Preview the result.

6️⃣ Save your changes.
