Hub : discover mobile app

Updated on

The TimeTonic mobile app supports you in the field: it lets you view your workspaces and enter your data from your smartphone. Workspaces, views, and rights are still configured on the web by administrators: on mobile, you find what has been configured for you.

Good to know. The mobile app is a layer for viewing and entering data. Everything you see (workspaces, tables, views, fields) is defined on the web. To customize the mobile display, see the articles for administrators.

Where to start?

Depending on your role, you won't approach the app the same way. Choose your starting point.

You use the app day to day

You view your workspaces, enter your data in the field, and exchange messages. Start by logging in, then explore the three tabs.

Download the app

The TimeTonic app is available free of charge on iOS and Android. Search for TimeTonic in your store, or use the links below.

Your account is created on the web. Once your account is created, log in to the app with the same credentials. Synchronization between web and mobile is automatic.

Finding your way: the 3 tabs

Navigation is organized around three tabs, always available at the bottom of the screen.

Messages

Your conversation threads per workspace, with the number of unread messages. You read and send messages here.

Workspaces

The list of your workspaces, with your favorites at the top. You enter a workspace to view its tables, open a view, filter, and enter your records.

Shortcuts

Your quick access to the views and apps pinned for you, grouped by theme, inside the app.

The Shortcuts tab, inside the app, is distinct from the shortcuts you can place on your phone's home screen (see below): these are two separate mechanisms.

Settings and profile

The gear icon, at the top right, opens the app settings and access to your user profile: personal information, invitations, notifications, and support.

The app interface is displayed in your device's language: tab and menu names appear in English when your phone is set to English.

Shortcuts on your phone's home screen

The TimeTonic mobile app can place shortcuts directly on your phone's home screen, to the views where you work most often. Configured on the web by an administrator, they take you there in one tap, without opening the app first. The form these shortcuts take depends on your operating system.

Open a view

Go directly to a specific view of your data.

Create a record

Start creating a record in a given table, directly from the home screen.

On iOS

On iPhone and iPad, these shortcuts take two forms: a widget placed on the home screen, and quick actions accessible via a long press on the app icon. The screenshots below illustrate these two forms on iOS.

iOS: quick actions via long press on the icon
iOS: long press on the icon
iOS: shortcuts widget on the home screen
iOS: home-screen widget
On iOS, a home-screen widget can display up to 8 shortcuts. A long press on the app icon offers up to 4 quick actions.

On Android

On Android, a view configured as a shortcut appears as an app icon placed on the home screen, which opens the relevant view directly.

The rest of the Android behavior, in particular the long-press behavior on the icon, will be detailed later in this documentation.
Setup. These shortcuts are defined on the web by an administrator, via the view's JSON configuration. The details are presented in the documentation for administrators.
