Link your tables together and access your related data in just a few clicks.
If you're not yet familiar with table links, check out the article here.
To configure a Link to another table column, you must select the workspace you want to link to and then choose the appropriate table.
⚙️ Configuration Window
Selection options:
1️⃣ ☑️ "Create only" ➡️ only create new records in the linked table
🆕 a sub-option will appear allowing you to check:
☑️ "Delete the row when the link is deleted" to ensure automatic deletion of linked items when a link is removed from either side of the relationship.
How the option works
Example: A Quotes table contains a list of service lines linked to each quote. With this option enabled, deleting a service line in the quote will also automatically delete the corresponding line in the services table.
🔄 All deletions performed via this option are recorded in the modification history, making it possible to track when and how a row was deleted. You can restore items from the table's trash bin.
⚠️ Deleting the parent row does not delete the linked rows. In our example, deleting the quote will not remove the service lines. |
2️⃣ ☑️ "Select only" ➡️ only allow selection of an existing value
3️⃣ ☑️ "Single link" ➡️ only one link per cell is allowed
4️⃣ Filter links available based on a column value or shared link
⁉️ You can choose a default value between User ID or Notebook Timetonic ID.
📌 Additional Link Configuration in the record view
Link view:
Once your Link to another table field is created and configured, you can set which view of the linked table you want the field to point to.
ℹ️ Configure how links are displayed in a view, e.g. "default", "admin", "user" depending on the data visibility you've set up.
⚠️ Essential configuration to enable selection or creation of links from the Timetonic mobile app.
