The Gantt View in TimeTonic represents your projects as a Gantt chart, where each project, task, or sub-task occupies a separate line.
The visual clarity of this representation makes project understanding and planning easier.
To switch to the Gantt View, follow these simple steps:
Initial Configuration 🛠️
1️⃣ In the view options of a table, select "Gantt View."
2️⃣ Configure your Gantt View by accessing "Configure Gantt" in the view options bar.
Advanced Gantt Configuration: Custom Settings 🎛️
Precise configuration is essential to fully leverage the Gantt View. Here's how to configure your Gantt:
1️⃣ Task Titles 📝
Choose the field in your table that will serve as the title for your tasks.
2️⃣ Task Time Configuration ⏰
For Start, End, Duration, and Milestones 📍
You have 2️⃣ options:
- Select start and end columns: If your table has start and end fields.
- Select start and duration columns: If you have start and duration (number of days) fields.

Select the date-type column serving as the start date

End / Duration
Depending on the Task Date Configuration, select the date-type column serving as the end date or duration. To create a milestone, leave the end date blank.

Milestone
To create a milestone (represented by a diamond 🔸 in the TimeTonic Gantt view), leave the end date blank.
3️⃣ Assigned User and Progress Indicator ⚙️
- Select the column that will contain the person or persons assigned to this task [⚠️ only link-type fields]
- Select the Number (decimal) type column that will contain the progress/load indicator, from 0 to 1 (100%). Note that for sub-tasks, the parent's indicator updates automatically based on the sub-tasks' progress.
4️⃣ Choose a Configuration Type for Representation 🔄
By following these steps, you'll be able to configure your Gantt View to specifically meet your needs.
1. Choose the type: if your tasks have sub-tasks or not.
- You have 2️⃣ options:
- No sub-task
- Select the parent task column ↘︎(link to the same table) →(single link) : choose the relevant column [⚠️ link to the same table represents intra-table relations, showing a relationship like parents → children or folder → sub-folder or Tasks → Sub-tasks, etc.]
2. Choose a configuration type for the project
Choose the level where your tasks have sub-tasks or not. You have 3️⃣ options:

- No project
- Use a 1st level parent task
- Use a link column as a project (single link) : choose the relevant column
Managing Options in the Gantt View 🛠️
Visibility of your fields and manipulation of your tasks and sub-tasks, follow these simple steps 📂:
1. Select the fields with the cursor 🔽 that you want to see in your right columns.
2. Open and close your folders, represented according to your settings.

1. Select your view type on the diagram
Create a dependency relationship between a task and one or more other tasks :
1. By moving the first task, the second will be automatically moved so that its start date is always after the end date of the first.

- End to Start: The next task starts as soon as the previous one ends.
- Start to Start: Both tasks start simultaneously.
- End to End: Both tasks end at the same time.
- Start to End: The next task ends as soon as the first one starts.
🆕 Manage your task relationships from the configuration panel
See all your linked task columns and the direction of project links.
1. Open the configuration
2. Select "Edit relationships"
3. Make any needed modifications from this table for choosing relationships between your tasks and create a new record for a task as well
4. Adjust starts and ends directly in the table by modifying the fields between: "END" or "START"

Automatically move a group of tasks by simply moving the parent task.
But also move several individual tasks together by selecting them by pressing SHIFT and clicking on the tasks.
Create a new task from your Gantt table
1. Select the ✚ "New Task" button next to the task to link or at the top of the table for a Main task
2. Click on this button to trigger the creation of a new task.

5. Save the information to create the task
